My name is Elisabeth Tan, wife, daughter, friend and artist.
I love digital scrapbooking and for a few years now I have been trying to get into designing because I enjoyed it tremendously. However, my previous job commitment did not allow me to design as frequent as I want. Most of the time I would design and then give it to my Digiscrap buddy.
I am an English teacher but I am taking short break from teaching as I have recently moved to Germany and there are some requirements I need to fulfill. I won't go into that long explanation about that, don't want to bore you with that.
I love art, all kinds. Personally I do a lot of ink drawing. I published a book on Water Town. They are all my ink work. I occasionally still draw and at the moment I am working on Germany. Please click on the picture to preview my ink work.
My current Digital Scrapbooking project is the 365 Project. I hesitated when I started it but now I love it. I bring my camera everywhere I go and snap away. Bless my husband who is so patient with me and my camera, especially on holidays. We hike a little slower or the walk will take a little longer than recommended time, but he never once complained.Now that I have a little more time in my hands I thought it would be great to start what I love to do again. I did, and I have been searching for opportunities to work with some great designers. I am not saying it was not successful in my search, but there are so many regulations I am expected to follow.
So this $1DSC came to me in my dreams one night and I thought why not? I search online and found only one site that sells $1 kits for Digital Scrapbooking. I am not a competitor because my creations and styles are totally different.
I am a new designer and I believe I can bring a different creations to the Digital Scrapbooking community. I love Designer Digitals creations, especially Katie Pertiet and Ali Edwards, all thanks to my buddy, we are now both separated miles and miles away. She introduced their beautiful design to me. I know I will never be as good and successful as them, but I know there are people out there who likes my quirky yet unique work as well.
ABOUT ETScraps
I started calling my design ETScraps because of my initials. My students also call me Ms.ET at school, so these two letters associate well with me. When I design, I would put my ETScraps logo with my preview.
The logo used to be the ET alien finger touching my finger, but as I discover more and more about my work and design I changed it to the frog logo. The little green guy is call Frogg, I love frogs for many reasons. I think it's sad that many are on the verge of extinction. They are unique little or big creatures, and when I was young I used to go to the puddles after a tropical rain and catch the tadpoles.
I also like Kermit the Frog in Muppets, and I love to frog dishes. I know many of you may squirm at my mentioning that I love to eat them too. I am not French, but do you know Asians love frogs too? I mean eat them. I met my husband and we started to collect frogs and he too love frog dishes as well.
Ok, I shall stop here about consuming frogs. I just want to explain why the ETScraps Logo is meaningful to me.
TOOLS
I use PSE6 for Mac to design my creations. I used the point-n-shoot Samsung 6 megapixel when I photograph my inspiration. Now, I have added Sony NEX5 camera to my technical collections.
